Concentration Statement
1. What is the central idea of your concentration? The central idea of my concentration is illustrating feelings and words that apply to what I have been through while producing my concentration. Some are positive while others are dark to represent all the phases of this artistic exploration. Many pieces are associated with my struggle of clinical depression and anxiety. I also wanted to experiment with the power of print in art and explore the different ways to incorporate words into my work.
2. How does the work in your concentration demonstrate exploration of your idea? Over the course of my concentration, I have developed the themes for each piece. They started out as just personifications of feelings but quickly evolved to words that simply describe my current life. I also experimented with the amount of detail in certain pieces as well as drawing different ethnicities.
